Re: JAZZ CAFE - czego słuchamy
Panowie, taka sytuacja
Nadchodzi “Kind of Blue” 2.0 ???
Miles Davis - Birth of the Blue Cytat z Analogue Productions:
Analogue Productions is set to release 'Birth of the Blue' - The landmark first recording session of Miles Davis and his Kind of Blue band on vinyl December 13!
Miles Davis's 'Kind of Blue' was the number-one jazz album in history. It totaled five songs. There are four more songs from that same historic group, recorded in the same time period and at the same studio. And here they are. These songs deserve to stand on their own with artwork to highlight the quality of the music and that matches the time period of the recording. This is a rare opportunity to have a smash follow-up to what many consider the greatest jazz record ever.
These four remarkable performances — three ballads and one Miles original, all from a single recording session in 1958 — have been treated as add-on material to various compilations and box sets. Yet they capture a very important moment in time, and the birth of a momentous shift in modern jazz: the coming of modal jazz. These tracks are also the first recordings by one of the most celebrated unions in jazz history — Miles’s legend–loaded sextet of that year included John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Cannonball Adderley, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb.
Together, these four tracks have their own story to tell and have long been worthy, musically and historically, of release as a distinct album. 'Birth of the Blue' represents the first time this music has received the treatment it deserves. Mastered from a new 30 IPS quarter-inch stereo master tape transferred from the original 3-track session tapes. Cut at 33-1/3 RPM and pressed at Quality Record Pressings on 180-Gram Vinyl.
